Set in a graceful 18th-century Georgian manor house, the Mercure York Fairfield Manor is suited for enjoying the lovely Yorkshire countryside. The hotel stands on six acres of private grounds and is 3.5 miles northwest of York railway station. The medieval town of York is a short ride away.The Mercure York Fairfield Manor has retained many of its original features including marble fireplaces, an oak-panelled library and a magnificent 19th-century mahogany staircase. While rooms in the original manor house are traditionally styled, with dark wood furniture and brass fittings, guestrooms in the new wing are bright, contemporary and stylish. All rooms come with a welcoming tray of tea, coffee, fruit and mineral water in every room, and luxurious complimentary toiletries in the en-suite bathrooms. Curl up by the fireplace with a heart-warming beverage or enjoy afternoon tea at the garden lounge or on the patio.
