Hotel Overview
The Newington Hotel is a traditional family-run red-brick hotel in York. The intimate cellar restaurant is traditional in style and serves English food. Recently refurbished in a more modern style, the bar area is perfect for relaxing after a hard day exploring York attractions. The hotel also has an indoor, heated swimming pool and sauna. Please note that the hotel is entirely non-smoking and does not accept single sex parties of over four people.
Location
The Newington Hotel is located on the Royal Approach, the historical entrance route to medieval York. This York hotel is a 15 minute walk from the ancient city walls. Sitting right next to York Racecourse, the hotel also provides easy access to the A64. There is a local direct bus service into the city centre and the hotel has its own car park.

Rooms overview
This York hotel’s 44 ensuite bedrooms are all of different shapes and sizes and some are set in a delightful Coach House at the bottom of the hotel’s courtyard. All bedrooms have a TV, direct dial telephone and tea/ coffee facilities. For special occasions book one of the feature rooms overlooking the racecourse, with a four poster bed and Jacuzzi bath.
