Occupying a landmark building, formerly home to the Scottish national paper and after which it was named, The Scotsman is today, one of Edinburgh’s most prestigious boutique hotels catering to the elite crowd. A multi award-winning hotel, The Scotsman also enjoys a prime location in the heart of the Old Town, overlooking Princes Street Gardens, Holyrood Park, Waverley Station and Edinburgh Castle. Although the newspaper office has long since moved out, many of the building’s original features remain, including the marble staircase, stained glass windows and black-and-white chequered flooring. The stunning wood-panelled reception hall that once saw merchants and traders buying newspapers or placing local advertisements is now the North Bridge Brasserie serving mouth-watering Scottish cuisine. Room types at The Scotsman are named in line with the hotel’s legacy, such as Study, Editor and Publisher. The Scotsman Hotel is on North Bridge in central Edinburgh, Scotland. The Royal Mile and Princes Street, the capital's main shopping street, are just one block from the boutique hotel. The National Gallery of Scotland and St Giles Cathedral are two blocks and Edinburgh Castle is five blocks away. Waverley Bridge railway station is opposite the hotel. Edinburgh Airport (EDI) is eight miles away.
