The island consists of a string of islets abundant with palm trees and magnificent white-sand beaches, surrounded by the South Seas emerald waters. The native treasure is the black pearl. This area is rich with a spectacular underwater world, natural islets (motu) and tranquil, serene magnificent spots. Bungalow style accommodation made of local wood, bamboo, shells, pandanus and palm tree fronds. Manihi Pearl Beach Resort offers many lagoon excursions and activities. One of the most famous excursions is "Motu picnic", a picknick on a deserted island. The resort was renovated in 2005.
