Vila Camacho is in a residential district, about 2km from the city centre, which is roughly 25 minutes away on foot and 5 minutes away by bus. This is a modern building constructed with typical Portuguese architecture This ever charming Residencial also offers a small pool, a TV bar with major news and sports channels, laptops for hire with wireless internet access, and a small "wellness" centre offering aromatherapy massages and reflexology. Rooms are quite basic but they are clean, comfortable, brightly decorated and well-maintained, making them an excellent low-cost base from which to explore Funchal and Madeira island.

The excellent Flame Tree Restaurant, which serves simple "modern Portuguese" cooking, using local seasonal ingredients and featuring Madeiran dishes. On warm days meals can be taken outside.

The lobby is small in size.
