The rooms vary in size but are generally medium-sized, and are kept in very good condition. The bathrooms are in good condition. The rooms have elegant décor, with full facilities. All 195 of the hotel's en-suite bedrooms, many with views of Edinburgh Castle or the Firth of Forth, have been furnished to a comfortable four-star standard.

The hotel offers a variety of cuisine, including a wonderful buffet-style restaurant to the rear of a lobby, in what can only be described as a quite stunning luxurious setting. There is also an exclusive a la carte restaurant serving Scottish specialties to the left of the entrance.

The lobby is medium in size, with tiled floors and seating area. It has a luxurious feel due to the marble and crystal chandeliers.
