Cardiff is a great City and always enjoy visiting it as my daughter is at Uni here. There is plenty to do and see, the shopping is great, the streets are clean and people are always very helpful. It’s a lot cheaper than London!
Not really fair to judge Cardiff as visit was due as stated above. Wife enjoyed shops and have to take her word that shops were better than Plymouth! At least I got to see Millennium Stadium which brought back memories of a F A Charity Match in 2001.

If you want an indication of how the Welsh capital is regenerating itself just look at Cardiff hotels. Where once there were a handful of good ones and a fair few passable ones, now there are literally hundreds of top quality hotels. A cheap hotel in Cardiff is just as easy to find as a more prestigious five star Cardiff hotel, so much so that you are almost spoiled for choice.
This hoteliers’ revolution is not an isolated incident either. The Welsh capital has changed dramatically over the last decade, and there is still major renewal going onMost noticeable of all, particularly for the visitor emerging from the railway station, is the looming modernity of the Millennium Stadium, which dominates the skyline on the western edge of the city centre. Travelling to Cardiff for a short weekend break (whilst to some people not too long ago a laughable concept) is now something that thousands of people do on a regular basis. And the revenue is pouring in. It can truly be said that the first decade of the 21st century has been highly successful for Cardiff, and there are further developments underway, including a new 30,000-seat stadium for Cardiff City Football Club that is expected to be complete by late 2008 and a major ?700 million International Sports Village in Cardiff Bay.
Cheap hotels in Cardiff are still there for people who want to do the city on a budget, but the bigger and more luxurious hotels are now the rival of any city in Europe. Cardiff holidays are no longer to be seen as the second option to a city break in either London or Edinburgh and can quite satisfactorily be said to have come into their own. Travel to Cardiff has taken a distinctly more touristic turn and this has only benefited the city. Check out any number of online websites to see just how popular the city is. You will be able to get fantastic deals on hotels in Cardiff and you will be bowled over by the sheer amount of things there are to do in the city. It is a must see!
